My 4 year-old twins LOVE this set! They got it as a surprise reward one day and were ecstatic. They felt like big boys.I had to put it all together for them since their fine motor skills are delayed but they helped find the pieces following the picture instructions. Great way to learn to use and read instructions at this young age. They both fight over who gets the helicopter but I take out the timer and all is well. When something does fall apart, they get very upset that they can't put it back together themselves. They have no problems with their Duplos.It says 4 - 7 years and maybe other 4 year-olds are better at putting tiny, little things together but it is a little difficult for big fingers, too.So, in short, it's a great set as long as you know that little ones need help. Price could be better!These Junior sets are the perfect size for 5-7 year olds! Our son loves to play with Legos but some of his brothers sets were too big for him, yet the bigger Lego blocks were getting to be boring for him. He loves the Lego Junior sets!My son wanted this set so bad for his birthday. I think he was a little disappointed in the simplicity of it. (The juniors part means larger pieces and less complicated building). My son is 5 by the way. The "suitcase" is a little weird. I don't think that it keeps the pieces separated if you carry it around. The quality of the set itself is great. And he still loves playing with it as well as disassembling it and making other creations.We put some scoops of Legos in this for when we go to family's houses. My son loves to bring some Legos with him and carries it by himself - very cute. It's nice how it comes with optional dividers too. I've tried to organize things in it but it didn't stay organized long. He's 3. An older child may appreciate the dividers more. My one issue is that when he opens it himself he ends up taking off the little yellow tabs almost everytime, but they are easy to put back on.My grandson loved this junior Lego kit! He was just outgrowing the Duplo blocks and I hoped this was a good intermediate step between them and the regular Legos, and it turned out to be just that. He got them about a month ago and plays with them all the time. It was just what I hoped it would be!! I plan to buy more of these sets in the coming months.The almost five year old I bought these for loved them! He looked at the directions and put the motorcycle together. The case is great! It has spaces for the different blocks and since he is very organized, he loved the case almost as much as the blocks! I gave it to him to play with when he was ring bearer in a wedding and it was perfect to take with us to the church and other places.My son loves this set. He plays with it all the time. The box is a bit of a let down. It serves no real purpose. It cannot hold the Legos once assembled, so basically it's only good for keeping them when they are un-assembled but what kid has only one set and keeps them all perfectly separate? Not us, so we just tossed the box.This is a great set for a boy. I purchased for my five year old and he had no problems putting the pieces together all by himself. He "read" the picture directions and was able to figure out where each piece went. This was his first time playing with lego's and now he is hooked and want's every set out there! Great first set for your child. I would highly recommend.Purchased for a 4year old boy, he put everything together immediately and then began to play with the pieces he had built.
